Hoptown’s Poe Wins First Place at Murray New Year’s Shootout

Hopkinsville’s Mary Poe took first place at the Murray New Year’s Shootout Saturday, helping the Tigers to a third place finish. The sophomore shot a 290 out of 300 to claim the top spot.

Katie Little was Hoptown’s next finisher for the girls in 11th place with a score of 272.

For the guys, Jeremy Leek finished 10th with a score of 280. Lucas Ballard was 14th at 278, and Nathan Morris shot a 273 to finish 14th.

In the middle school division, Micah Goode shot a 267 to finish 19th in the male division, while Shelby Sparks led the HMS girls with a score of 258, good for 21st place.

Trigg County finished first in the high school division with 3,368 points, 74 points better than Marshall County. Hopkinsville was third with 3,234 points.
