Heritage Christian Academy overcame an early deficit to pick up a 48-40 road win at Oak Ridge Christian In Morgantown.
Oak Ridge, ranked No. 3 in this week’s KCAA Rankings, jumped out to a 12-6 first quarter lead and held a 24-22 lead at the break.
HCA, ranked No. 1 in this week’s KCAA Rankings, outscored Oak Ridge 14-6 in the third quarter and 12-10 in the fourth. They helped themselves by hitting 16-of-26 at the free throw line in the contest.
Rachel West scored a game-high 18 points, and Chelsea Dortch scored 17 points. She hit 7-of-8 at the free throw line. Hope Flournoy scored five points, and Meredith Crunk, and Abbi Bullock each scored four points.
Sophomore Shalyn Bratcher led Oak Ridge with 17 points. HCA completed their season sweep of their region rival, beating them 48-46 last month.
Heritage is now 14-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Oak Ridge drops to 9-2 in conference play – both losses coming at the hands of HCA.
The Lady Warriors will host Lighthouse Christian Tuesday.
