
A tough start to 2018 contiued Tuesday night for the Fort Campbell Falcons. The Falcons lost for the 11th time in 12 games since the calendar rolled over to the new year as they were upended by the Dawson Springs Panthers 69-55.
Using a balanced effort, the Panthers were able to get out to a 18-14 lead after the first quarter. Behind the play of Braxton Cotton and Austin Clark, Dawson Springs was able to extend the lead to 36-29 at the break. Jordan Clark battled to keep the Falcons in the game during the first half, scoring 17 points before the break.
With Kevin Brooks heating up in the 3rd quarter, Dawson Springs was able to put the game away. The Panthers outscored Fort Campbell in the third 23-9 blow the margin out to 59-38. The Falcons were able to outscore the Panthers in the final quarter 17-10, but at that point the deficit was simply too much to overcome.
Jordan Clark led the way for Fort Campbell with 26 points on the night. Julian Roberts added 9. For the Dawson Springs Panthers, Kevin Brooks and Braxton Cotton had 16 points each, while Austin Clark added 10.
The loss drops Fort Campbell to 3-14, while Dawson Springs improves to 6-14.
