Barrow & Calvery Lead the Rebel Charge Past Caldwell County

The Todd County Central Rebels will head into the post season on a winning note following their final game of the regular season Thursday night. The Rebels used a 9-0 run over the end of the 1st quarter and the beginning of the second quarter to break open a close game and pick up the 56-42 win over the Caldwell County Tigers in Elkton.

The game went back and forth early on, as the score was tied at 6 and at 8. Behind the scoring of Nolan Barrow and John Calvery, the Rebels finished the first quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 16-10 lead.

The Rebels opened the second quarter of play scoring the first seven points and pushing the lead out to 23-10. Caldwell County would never seriously threaten the Rebels from that point forward. Todd County Central would maintain the 13 point lead going to the half, leading 29-16.

During the 3rd quarter, the Tigers made a push to try and get back into the ballgame. Caldwell County would cut the lead to nine points at 33-24 on a basket by Cayden Fraliex, but could get no closer. The Rebels would get the lead back to double digits, leading 39-29 after three.

Caldwell County scored the first four points of the final quarter to cut the lead to 39-33. Barrow and Calvery then took over for the Rebels and Todd County Central was able to get the lead back out to double digits again and get to the final 14 point margin.

Nolan Barrow led the way for Todd Central with 18 points. John Calvery added 15, while Tashaun Foster had 14. For Caldwell County, Derrin Boyd was held to well below his season average with 12 points. Cayden Fraliex added 11.

Todd County improves to 16-12 on the season, while Caldwell County drops to 13-13.
