Christian County senior Detorrion Ware has been named the Second Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches. The honor means Ware will receive an automatic invitation to try out for the Kentucky All-Star Team that plays Indiana’s all-stars each summer and will be a candidate for Mr. Basketball.
Ware, who is among the state’s leading scorers at 31.3 points per game, became Christian County’s all-time leading scorer earlier this season. In addition to shooting 50-percent from the field and 34-percent from 3-point range, Ware averages nine rebounds a contest.
