Crittenden County ended the game with a 15-5 run to shock top seed Livingston Central 51-47 and move into Thursday’s Fifth District championship game. The four-seed Rockets, who were 0-6 in district play during the season, will play Lyon County for the title.
Logan Belt and Sawyer Towery hit 3-pointers during the fourth quarter run, and the Rockets hit 9-of-12 free throws in the final frame to complete the comeback.
Livingston Central appeared to have the game in control in the first half with a 20-10 lead, but the Rockets scored seven straight. The Cards still led 24-19 at halftime.
Livingston twice led by eight points in the third quarter and twice led by six points in the fourth, but shot just 3-of-12 from the field in the final quarter.
Freshman Preston Turley scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Towery scored 14 and Logan Belt added 12 points for Crittenden County.
Cameron Dean led Livingston Central (17-14) with 14 points.
Crittenden County (6-19) shoot for their first district title in 20 years Thursday against Lyon County, a 46-44 winner over Trigg County in the other semifinal.
