Heritage Christian Academy opened their 2018 softball season with a pair of mercy-rule wins over Franklin Road Christian School of Tennessee Saturday.
HCA won the opener 19-0 as Nicole Holland pitched a one-hitter and struck out eight in three innings of work. She also added a two-run single at the plate.
Katie Ruth had a single, double, and three RBIs, and Jordan Trumble had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Madison Powell also had a double, single and three runs scored for the Lady Warriors.
In the second game of the twinbill, HCA scored 16 runs in the third inning on their way to a 20-2 win over the Lady Minutemen.
Katie Ruth had a single, double, three RBIs, while Kaelyn Kaetzel added a single and three RBIs.
Madison Powell tripled in a pair of runs as part of the big third inning, and Jordan Reed had a single and three runs scored on the day.
Holland pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven to get the win. She also had two hits and four RBIs at the plate.
Heritage Christian (2-0) returns to action Thursday with a doubleheader at Christian Fellowship.
