Racers Receive All-American Rifle Honors

Following the recent NCAA Rifle Championships, multiple members of the Murray State rifle team earned All-American honors. MacKenzie Martin and Barbara Schläpfer took home second team honors from the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association, while Ivan Roe was named to the third team. Ben Estes and Robert Broadstreet rounded out the honors from the CRCA be being named honorable mention.

In other All-American honors, Martin and Schläpfer earned first team honors in smallbore, with Estes and Roe being named to the second team and Broadstreet being named honorable mention. In air rifle, Broadstreet was named to the first team, while Roe, Martin and Schläpfer were named to the second team.

In addition, nine of the 10 members the Racer rifle team were named as CRCA Scholastic All-Americans. In addition to Schläpfer, Roe, Broadstreet and Estes, Alathea Sellars, Meike Drewell, Shelbey Huber, Eric Sloan and Dane Buesseler, also earned the award.

With this year’s All-American awards, MSU rifle has now had 128 annual honors, while Estes and Roe finish their careers having earned at least one All-American honor in each of their four years of eligibility.
