Hopkinsville Falls on the Road at Logan County (w/PHOTOS)

A tough outing Monday evening for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. In one of the few games across the area to get played, Hopkinsville went on the road and fell to the Logan County Lady Cougars 14-2 in four innings.

Logan County got things rolling early in the game. After setting Hopkinsville down in order in the top of the first, Logan County plated four runs in the bottom of the inning. The big hit in the inning came from sophomore Abby Canler, who connected on a double to drive in a run during in the inning. Logan County was aided by two walks and two Lady Tiger errors in the inning.

Hopkinsville went down in order again in the top of the 2nd inning and Logan County quickly got back to work. The Lady Cougars effectively put the game away with ten runs in the inning. Pitching struggles continued to plague the Lady Tigers, as they gave up five walks and two hit batters in the inning. The big hit in the inning for Logan County came from sophomore Sydney Lee, who connected for a two run double.

Hopkinsville got on the board in the top of the 3rd inning with a pair of runs. Sabrina Hodge opened the top of the 3rd with a single. One out later, Shaniyah Straight singled to the left side of the infield to put runners on the corners. After a strikeout, Shelby Harbour drove in both Hodge and Staight with a two run double to cut the lead to 14-2. Harbour was thrown out trying to stretch the hit to a triple.

The Lady Cougars went down in order in the bottom of the 3rd.

Hopkinsville looked like they might start another rally in the top of the 4th inning. Marley Hancock and Nadia Clayton opened the inning with back to back singles, but a double play and a ground out to the shortstop ended the game.

Hopkinsville ended up scoring 2 runs on five hits, and committed three errors. Logan County scored 14 runs on seven hits, and had no errors.
