The Woodford County Lady Yellowjackets used a seven run fourth inning to take control of the game and then held off a late rally from the Lyon County Lady Lyons to gain a split of their two game trip to Christian County Saturday. After leading 8-1, Woodford held on for the 11-8 win.

Like they did in their game against Christian County, Woodford County scored a run in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Lyon County came back to tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning. After walks to Sydney Melton and Kaelyn Conger, Kerstin Craft came up with a one out single to score Melton and tie the game at 1-1.

Woodford County did not take long to take control of the game back. In the top of the 4th inning, the Lady Yellowjackets combined two walks from Lyon County pitcher Sophie Bingham, two Lyon County errors, and four singles to plate seven runs and go back in front by a score of 8-1.

Lyon County would put together a rally and get as close as 10-8 after the 6th inning.

However, Woodford County added an insurance run in the top of the 7th, and then set the Lady Lyons down in the bottom of the inning to pick up the 11-8 win.
