Trigg County angler Ramie Colson Jr. took advantage of familiar Kentucky waters to bring home a season-best 13th place finish Sunday at the FLW Tour stop on Lake Cumberland.

Colson started strong with a haul of 14-pounds, 3-ounces on the first day and 16-pounds, 5-ounces on the second day that put him into the top 10.

His third day saw him catch his five-fish limit early and total 14-pounds, 2-ounces, which was just over three pounds short of landing in the top 10.

Colson’s $12,000 pay day was his first on the FLW Tour this year and moved him up to 79th in the point standings with familiar stops Smith Lake, Alabama (April 26) and Kentucky Lake (May 17) favoring Colson in the next month.

Ramie’s son Douglas caught 14-pounds, 4-ounces of fish to finish 46th in the co-angler division which resulted in a $1,000 check. Douglas currently stands 45th in the FLW Tour co-angler point standings.
