Sophomore Lauren Hodge earned the complete-game win and went 3-3 at the plate to lead the Hopkinsville softball team to a 3-1 road win over McLean County on Tuesday night.  The victory is the second in a row for the Lady Tigers and moves them to 3-7 overall, while the Lady Cougars have lost three-straight to fall to 2-5.

The Lady Tigers did all of their damage in the top of the sixth inning, when senior Shelby Harbour singled to bring in Hodge and senior Makenzie Carter.  Junior Nadia Clayton singled to score sophomore Alyssa Skinner, giving Hoptown a 3-0 lead.  The Lady Cougars got a run back in their half of the sixth, but Hodge shut them out the rest of the way to give the Lady Tigers a 3-1 win.

Hodge only surrendered four hits and 1 earned run over seven innings, walking six and striking-out two.  Sophomore Lauren Hoover took the loss for McLean County, lasting four innings while allowing 3 earned runs on four hits, with a walk and five strikeouts.

Hodge’s three hits led the Lady Tiger attack, with Harbour getting a hit and knocking-in 2.  Clayton had a hit and an RBI, with Carter and 8th grader Morgan Hodge each collecting a hit.

Up next for Hoptown is a trip to Elkton on Thursday to face the 3-3 Todd County Central Lady Rebels.
