The Fort Campbell Falcons dropped their 4th game in a row Thursday evening. The Webster County Trojans traveled down to post and came away with the 6-0 win. It was the second game in a row that the Falcons had been shut out.
Webster County scored in each of their first three at bats to take a 5-0 lead after three innings and then cruised the rest of the way to pick up the six run win. The Trojans got two runs in the first, one in the second, two more in the third, and then added an insurance run in the top of the seventh.
The Trojans scored their six runs on a total of five hits in the ballgame. The Falcons came up with six hits over the seven innings.
Ryan Sawyer went 2-2 for the Falcons. Tyler Mackay, Edwin Syester, Trey Burgoyne, and Peyton Loveall had hits for the Falcons. All six hits were singles.
Syester pitched five innings, giving up 5 runs, only one of which was earned, on four hits, striking out eight, while walking four. Mackay pitched the final two innings, giving up a run on one hit, striking out five, while walking one.
The loss dropped the Falcons to 2-7 on the season.
