The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers scored in five of their seven at bats Friday evening, but it was not enough to hold off the Hopkins Central Lady Storm. A four run 4th inning turned out to be the difference as Central took down Hopkinsville 11-8.

Hopkins Central scored three runs in the top of the 1st inning. The Lady Tigers responded with a run in the bottom of the inning when Shelby Harbour doubled to drive in Lauren Hodge and make it 3-1 after one inning.

Hopkinsville added another run in the bottom of the second inning when Morgan Hodge stole home, cutting the Lady Storm lead to 3-2.

Central added a run in the top of the 3rd to extend their lead to 4-2. Hopkinsville took the lead in the bottom of the inning when Sebrina Hodge blasted a shot to center field to make it a 5-4 game.

The lead was short lived, however, as the Lady Storm put four runs across the plate in the top of the 4th inning to take the lead back at 8-5. Central added two more runs in the top of the 5th inning to make it 10-5.

Hopkinsville rallied again in the bottom of the 5th. Makenzie Carter smashed an RBI triple, and then later scored on an error to cut the Lady Storm lead to 10-7.

Central added an insurance run on a home run in the top of the 7th inning to make it 11-7.

The Lady Tigers tried to mount one last rally in the bottom of the 7th. Taiya Straight led off the inning with an inside the park home run to cut the margin to 11-8. But this time, there was no further rally, as the Lady Storm held on for the win.

Taiya Straight was 3-4 in the game with a home run and an RBI. Sebrina Hodge was 1-4 with 3 RBIs. Lauren Hodge went 2-4 with a double.

The loss dropped Hopkinsville to 4-9 on the season.
