Lyon County Beats Obion County for 7th Straight Win

Saturday was a perfect day for the Lyon County Lady Lyons at the Trigg County Lady Cat Invitational. The Lady Lyons completed their run through the day with a 5-1 win over Obion County.

Lyon County scored 2 runs in the first inning and three more in the bottom of the 4th inning in the game, which was shortened to five innings due to time limit.

In the bottom of the first inning, after a single by Kerstin Craft and a double by Calista Collins, Obion County committed an error allowing both Craft and Collins to score, and Lyon County to take a 2-0 lead after one inning.

In the bottom of the 4th, Sydney Melton connected with an RBI single, followed by Craft driving in two more runs with another single, giving Lyon County a 5-0 lead after four innings.

Obion County was able to get a run across in the top of the 5th inning thanks to four singles, but they could get no closer as Lyon County held on for their third win of the day.

Kerstin Craft was 2-3 in the game with a pair of RBIs. Sydney Melton went 2-3 with one RBI.

In the circle, Kaelyn Conger went 3 2/3, giving up no runs, on four hits, striking out four and walking none.

At the end of the day, Lyon County had improved their record to 11-7, and has now won seven games in a row.
