
The Caldwell County Lady Tiger softball team will be looking to bring a state championship back to Princeton as they head off to Owensboro this weekend. The Lady Tigers will be playing in the All A Classic state softball tournament beginning Saturday morning.
The tournament begins play with four 4-team pools Saturday morning at 9:00am. The Lady Tigers are in a pool with Russellville, out of Region 4, Whitefield Academy, out of Region 7, and Lexington Christian, out of Region 11.
The Lady Tigers will begin play Saturday morning at 10:30am as they take on the Russellville Lady Panthers. As of Wednesday morning, Russellville was 9-7 on the season. The Lady Panthers have wins over Todd County Central and Fort Campbell. Their losses include Trigg County and Logan County.
Caldwell County will return to action Saturday afternoon at 2:00 when they take on Whitefield Academy. As of Wednesday, according to the KHSAA, the Lady Wildcats were 2-2, with wins over Christian Academy, of New Albany, and Seneca. Their losses have come to Bullitt East and Christian Academy, of Louisville.
The final game of pool play for Caldwell County will be Saturday at 5:30pm, when the Lady Tigers take on Lexington Christian. LCA, as of Wednesday morning, was 9-3. Their wins include wins over Lexington Catholic, Bryan Station, and Presentation. The losses have come to Assumption, Tates Creek, and Lafayette.
The winner and runner-up from each pool will advance on to the 8-team championship bracket, which will begin play Sunday morning at 9:00.
All games are being played at Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro.
