Henderson County scored five runs in the first two innings and held on to beat Trigg County 6-2 Friday in Henderson.
Two nights after losing to Livingston Central in which several mental gaffes cost the Wildcats, Trigg again found themselves in an early hole after not making several plays that would have limited the damage caused by the Colonels.

Trigg County got on the scoreboard in the third inning when Trevor Cortner singled, Riley Stallons doubled, and Cortner scored on a sacrifice fly.
Trigg added another run in the sixth inning when Cunningham and Darrin Brown singled ahead of a run-scoring ground ball by Micah Brown.
Henderson’s final run came in the sixth inning on a single, walk, ground out, and a sacrifice fly.
Lefty Brice Shofner kept Trigg County off balance for most of the night. He scattered six hits and struck out four. The Wildcats had several hard-hit balls that found Henderson fielders.
Tyler Ladd (1-2) suffered the loss, giving up 10 hits and five earned runs.
