
The Christian County Lady Colonels won for the 12th time in their last 13 games Monday afternoon. Pitchers Hannah Sumner and Regan Hancock combined to pitch a one hit shutout in a 7-0 win over Graves County.
The Lady Colonels got all the offense they needed when they scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. Christian County took advantage of a pair of walks and a Lady Eagles’ error to go up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning.
In the bottom of the 3rd, Lexie O’Daniel got an RBI single to make it 2-0. Tyler Shemwell drove in another run with a ground out to extend the lead to 3-0. Christian County added one more run in the inning when Hope Jones hit into a ground out, scoring O’Daniel, and pushing the lead out to 4-0.
Another Graves County error led to Christian County scoring a run in the bottom of the 5th to make it a 5-0 game. The Lady Colonels finished their scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Tyler Shemwell hit a sacrifice fly scoring Emmy Blane. Hope Jones then singled, driving in Lexie O’Daniel.
Hope Jones was 2-4 in the game with a pair of RBIs. Tyler Shemwell went 1-3 and drove in two runs. Emmy Blane was 2-3 and scored two runs.
