When it comes to going the distance, you can count on Muki Kunnmann to be somewhere near the front. The University Heights Academy junior is the top distance runner for both the Lady Blazer cross country and track teams.
Kunnmann has won three consecutive Class A Region I individual cross country titles and finished in the top 10 each year. In the fall, she was named the Area Runner of the Year and All-State by the state coaches association.
At last year’s Class A State Track and Field Meet, Kunnmann finished second in the 3200 meters and seventh in the 1600 meters in helping the Lady Blazers finish sixth as a team. In a few weeks, she and the rest of her Lady Blazer teammates will have their sights set higher at both the region and state meet.
Kunnmann is an outstanding student and has been selected as a 2018 Governor’s Scholar.
