Todd County Central went on the road to Morton’s Gap on Thursday night, dropping both games of a doubleheader with Hopkins County Central, 16-2 and 13-0. The Rebels slip to 3-14 overall, with the Storm on a three-game win streak to improve to 4-11.
After a run in the first, the Storm used a 10-run second to take control of the opening game. The Rebels got one back in the bottom of the inning when 8th grader Will Kearns came home on a double-play.
The Rebels scored again in the top of the fourth when Kearns drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in freshman Jameson Hunt, but trailed 14-2. The Storm added 2 more in the bottom of the inning, ending the game after five innings.
Sophomore Dylan Hurt took the loss for the Rebels, lasting 1.2 innings while giving-up 10 runs on six hits with a couple of strikeouts and two walks. Sophomore Bryce Nolan worked 2.0 innings, yielding 6 runs, 3 earned, on three hits with four walks and a couple of strikeouts.

The Rebels’ struggles continued in the second game, as they could only muster one hit on the way to a 13-0 loss. A 9-run third inning did most of the damage for Hopkins Central, aided by four Todd County errors.

Hunt went the rest of the way, allowing 10 runs, 5 earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts and four walks. Senior Nick Tutor had the Rebels’ lone hit.

The Rebels return to the field on Monday when the 4-8 Dawson Springs Panthers make the trip to Elkton.
