The Caldwell County Tigers rebounded from back-to-back one run losses by taking out their frustrations on district rival Hopkins Central. The Tigers scored in every at bat to mercy rule the Storm 10-0 at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
Gabe East opened the scoring for Caldwell County in the bottom of the first, grounding out and driving in Noah Brown to make it 1-0. The Tigers made it 2-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tate VanHooser singled to drive in Oliver Parker. Van Hooser scored later in the inning on a steal of home to make it 3-0.
In the 3rd, Dylan Gray grounded out, driving in Shane Burns to make it 4-0. Oliver Parker doubled later in the inning, scoring Bryce Thomas, and extending the lead to 5-0.
Caldwell County added two more in the bottom of the 4th inning. Jase Felker hit an RBI single to make it 6-0. Shane Burns hit into a ground out, scoring Gabe East to push the lead out to 7-0.
The Tigers put the game away with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. The big blow in the inning was a two run homer by Oliver Parker.
The Tigers were led by Oliver Parker, who went 3-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Easton Thompson was 3-3 with an RBI. And, Tate VanHooser was 2-3 with an RBI.
Gabe East went all five innings on the mound, giving up no runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking none.
