Three different Trigg County pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout of Hopkinsville as the Wildcats won their third straight game Tuesday.
Jake Terrell, Darrin Brown, and Nick Ahart combined to strike out nine batters and walk just two. Terrell pitched the first three innings for the win, and Ahart the final three innings for the save.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the first inning, using a Hoptown error, four walks, and a passed ball to plate the runs.
Trigg scored four more runs in the second inning highlighted by a Darrin Brown two-run double.
Zach Caudill and Shane Hunt combined to allow just four Trigg hits over the final five innings and stop the damage.
Caleb Bapp, Jon Duvall, Blake Balthrop, and Robert Justus had the four hits for Hopkinsville.
Brown and Trevor Cortner each had two hits for Trigg County, and Andrew Williamson added a single.
Hopkinsville (7-16) will play at Daviess County Wednesday, while Trigg County (13-8) makes a trip to Caldwell County Thursday.
