The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers went on the road Friday evening and dropped their 5th straight game. Franklin-Simpson scored in four of their six at bats on the way to a 6-1 win over the Lady Tigers.
Franklin-Simpson scored a run in the bottom of the first, two more in the bottom of the 3rd, and two in the bottom of the 4th to take a 5-0 lead.
Hopkinsville cut into the lead in the top of the 5th inning. Sebrina Hodge opened the inning with a triple and then scored on an RBI single from Morgan Hodge to make it a 5-1 game. Shaniya Straight then singled to left field to put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Franklin-Simpson set down the next three in order to end the threat.
Franklin-Simpson got the run back in the bottom of the 6th inning to make it a 6-1 game.
Morgan Hodge was 2-3 with an RBI for the Lady Tigers. Sebrina Hodge was 1-3 with a run scored.
In the circle, Lauren Hodge went six innings, giving up six runs on eight hits, striking out none and walking nine.
Hopkinsville is set to finish the regular season with a busy stretch of five games over eight days.
