For 4 ½ innings it looked like the Lyon County Lady Lyons and the Marshall County Lady Marshalls might go down to the final inning. However, the Lady Marshalls followed up a five run 5th inning with 2 more in the 6th to pull away for the 10-3 win in Draffenville.
Marshall County got on the board first, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Lyon County battled back to tie the game in the top of the 3rd inning with three runs of their own. The big hits in the inning were a two run double from Sophie Bingham and an RBI double from Calista Collins.
The game stayed tied at 3 until the Lady Marshall bats got hot in the bottom of the 5th inning and again in the 6th inning. On the other side, Lyon County could not get another offensive rally going after the 3rd inning.
Sophie Bingham went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Calista Collins was 2-3 with an RBI.
In the circle, Sophie Bingham went the distance, giving up ten runs on ten hits, striking out eight and walking four.
