A good tennis season came to an end Thursday for Hopkinsville senior Newcomb Maddux. Maddux fell in his first round match in the Kentucky Boys State Tennis Tournament at Top Seed Tennis Club in Lexington.
Maddux was matched up against Louisville Trinity senior Cameron Strause. Strause was a bit too strong for Maddux in the match, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Maddux ends his career at Hopkinsville High School after reaching the region semifinals and the first round of the 2018 state tournament.
