Emma Talley shot a 3-under par 68 Thursday and finds herself tied for 17th place after the first round of the Kingsmill Championship presented by Geico in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Her round consisted of four birdies and a bogey. Talley was able to stay out of the sand and had 29 puts for the day – just below her season average.
There is a five-way tie atop the leaderboard at 6-under that includes Jessica Korda and Annie Park.
Talley entered the weekend tied for 48th in the CME Race for the Globe Standings and 44th on the LPGA money list.
She will begin her second round Tuesday afternoon at 1:27 and is paired with Pernilla Lindberg and Minjee Lee.
