Trigg County’s winningest baseball coach has decided to step down after seven years as head coach. Tim Bush informed his team Thursday of his decision.
Bush was 123-112 in seven years as head coach, never losing fewer than 14 games in a season. His 2013 Wildcat team won 25 games and tied the school record for wins in a season.
Trigg County won the Fifth District Tournament title five times in Bush’s seven seasons as head coach. His teams won three games in the Second Region Tournament. Trigg County has won five region tournament games in program history.
His 2018 team finished 19-12 and won a district title and a region tournament game before falling to Union County in the semifinals. Trigg County beat Third Region champion Muhlenberg County during the regular season, and Bush was named region coach of the year by his peers.
“It’s been an awesome experience for me personally, and I’ve enjoyed the blessing immensely,” Bush said. “It’s time for someone else to have the fun, and I can be a dad full-time and take a little time for myself.”
The Wildcats graduate seven seniors from this year’s squad, six of whom have signed to play baseball in college. Trigg has had nearly a dozen players continue their careers in college under Bush.
