Todd County Central will have several students competing in the Kentucky State High School Clay Target League state championship Saturday in Berea.
Todd County is one of 13 schools that are participating in the Kentucky State High School Clay Target League, a non-profit organization that is not sanctioned by the KHSAA. This is the third year Todd County has competed in the clay target league. Other western Kentucky schools participating are Hickman County, Marshall County, Calloway County and McCracken County.
The 13 schools are broken down into three conferences based on team size, with Todd County competing in Conference 2. Todd County has two shooters ranked in the top 10 statewide. Nic Jessie is ranked tenth among the male shooters, and Ava Hurt is ranked tenth among all females.
Jessie ranks fourth in the conference among males, while Adam Perry is ranked seventh and Logan Perry is eighth.
Hurt ranks third in the conference among females while Julia Martin is eighth, and Madison Hunt is tenth.
The Kentucky State High School Clay Target League state tournament will be Saturday at the Central Kentucky Gun Club in Berea.
