Taylor Shemwell has seen her batting average slowly rise over the final month of the season. The Lady Colonel junior catcher is batting .309 with three homers and 27 RBIs entering Thursday’s state tournament opener with Marshall County. She credits the tough early season schedule for the Lady Colonels as the reason for her improvement in the final month.
