Several local golfers had high finishes at the Kentucky Junior PGA Marshall Strong Classic Sunday at the Calvert City Country Club.
Grayson Thomas finished tied for fourth place in the Boys 15-16 Division with a score of 17-over for the two-day event. Jiles Wyatt was sixth at 18-over. Billy Atkins of Dover, Tenn. won the division at 12-over.
In the Boys 14-Under Division, Hunter Reynolds shot a two-day score of +29 to finish in fifth place. Gabe Suiter was one shot behind Reynolds in sixth place. Peyton Purvis of Marion won with a score of 8-over.
In the 9-hole division, Hayden Engler shot +14 to finish two shots behind the winner, Andrew Gill of Morgantown.
In the girls’ 9-hole division, Cathryn Brown won with a score of +17, which included a 9-shot improvement Sunday.
The next local stop on the Kentucky Junior PGA Series will be Friday at Ben Hawes Golf Club in Owensboro.
