Lexie O’ Daniel has wanted to play college softball since she was little. On Tuesday, that dream became a reality as the Christian County graduate signed to play at Western Kentucky University.
O’Daniel was a standout player for the Lady Colonels. She put together a dominant senior season. O’Daniel hit .392 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs in helping lead the Lady Colonels to 37 wins and their first region title in six years
In the circle, she was 15-2 with a 2.03 ERA and 132 strikeouts in 96 innings.
O’Daniel was named First Team All-State by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association in addition to All-District and All-Region honors.
Western Kentucky finished 28-26 last year and advanced to the second round of the Conference USA Tournament.
O’Daniel said she plans on studying nursing at WKU.
