Christian County has named Dennis Wells as their new tennis coach.
Wells retired last year from the U.S. Army after 25 years as a senior mobility expert. He served as tennis coach at Eastside High School in Gainesville, Florida in 2017.
He said he wants to teach the Colonel players in a similar method that saw his Eastside team win their district and advance to the Florida Class 2A region finals.
Christian County has struggled with numbers in recent years but appeared to be headed in a positive direction under Dale Adkins, whose contract was not renewed after the 2018 season. Adkins has since taken the volleyball head coaching job at Franklin County.
