Hopkinsville High’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder is excited for his next college stop. JaQualis Matlock has signed to play at Eastern Illinois University.
He says their up-tempo style, which was similar to what he played in high school, was a main reason in picking the Panthers.
Matlock racked up several team awards at Moberly Area College last year in helping them to a 26-5 record and a No. 11 ranking on the junior college circuit.
The 6-6 forward played his freshman season at Motlow State Tennessee.
He graduated from Hopkinsville High as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,221 points and all-time rebounder with 1,065 boards. At Hopkinsville, he started in four straight state tournaments.
