Sophie Bingham - Lyon County
One of the 2nd Region’s best pitchers over the past couple of seasons has decided to continue her career at Murray State University. Making her decision known Thursday on social media, Lyon County graduate Sophie Bingham stated she would be headed off to be a part of the Racer softball program.
Bingham finished her career with a long list of accomplishments during her senior season. She was named to the All 5th District team, the All 2nd Region team, the Class 1A All State team, as well as the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association All-Academic team.
Bingham graduates as the school’s all time leader in pitching wins and strikeouts. She had 170 strikeouts in 130 innings and batted .367 at the plate.
Bingham also played basketball at Lyon County.
