22 wiffle ball teams raised $40,569 for the Jake Hodge Memorial Scholarship Fund at Little Busch Stadium in Princeton over the weekend. That total was nearly $7,000 more than last year. Hodge was a 12 year-old Crittenden County student who died unexpectedly in 2008. He was the son of Crittenden County coaches Dennis and Shannon Hodge.
The foundation awards scholarships to high school students across western Kentucky. The annual wiffle ball tournament is the largest fundraiser for the foundation. Below, Shannon Hodge and tourney co-organizer Katie Parker throw out the first pitch.
