Christian County is ranked No. 9 in the preseason Class 5A Poll released by the Lexington Herald-Leader based on voting by coaches statewide.
The Colonels were 11-1 last season but lost a large senior class in addition to some returning starters that transferred to other schools over the summer. Christian County was unranked by Bluegrasspreps.com.
The Colonels have four opponents ranked in the top ten by either the Herald-Leader or Bluegrasspreps. Caldwell County (Aug. 17) is ranked eighth by the H-L and seventh by BGP; Hopkinsville (Sept. 7) is ranked seventh by the H-L and fifth by BGP; Owensboro is ranked No. 8 by BGP; and Madisonville is ranked No. 8 by BGP.
The Colonels will participate in their final preseason scrimmage this weekend at Austin Peay.
