The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers got the 2018 soccer season off to a good start Monday evening by getting past Trigg County 4-2. The Lady Tigers took early control of the match and led 4-1 at the half. Hoptown then did enough in the 2nd half to hold Trigg County at bay, and pick up th two goal win.
For Hopkinsville, Keeli Miles had a big night with two first half goals. Abby Moss and Greer Givens added a goal apiece.
Trigg County’s Ashlee Wyatt scored on a first half corner kick. Madisen Ireland scored the game’s only goal in the second half, as Hopkinsville held on to pick up the season opening win.
Hopkinsville (1-0) returns to action Tuesday at South Warren. Trigg County (0-1) is also in action again Tuesday, as the Lady Wildcats will host defending region champion Henderson County.
