Lyon County jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Webster County Monday only to see the Trojans hang a ‘Ferris Bueller’ on the Lyons and score nine times for a 9-2 win in the season opener.
The Lyons scored twice in the game’s first 12 minutes but didn’t find the back of the net again. Dawson McVay scored twice for the Trojans to knot the game at 2-2 by halftime. McVay scored two of the next three goals as the Trojans scored twice in the first four minutes of the second half to take control of the match.
Lyon County will host Muhlenberg County Thursday as they look for crack the win column for the first time in 2018.
