After losing an early lead in their season-opening loss to Webster County, Lyon County scored early and made it stand up with a 5-2 win Thursday over Muhlenberg County at Lee S. Jones Park.
Trace Adams, who scored both goals in a 9-2 loss to Webster County Monday, added a hat trick against the Mustangs and assisted on one of two Jeremiah Wilkerson goals. Wilkerson returned the gesture by assisting on two of Adams’ goals.
After being disappointed with second half effort in the loss to the Trojans, Lyon County Coach Derek McCuiston was pleased with the Lyons’ effort for the full 80 minutes.
Lyon County (1-1) will play Fort Campbell Tuesday in the Second Region All-A Classic.
