Heritage Christian Academy opened the KCAA portion of their soccer schedule Friday with a 5-1 loss at Somerset Christian.
After Somerset Christian took an early lead on a penalty kick, Lawson Ashby took a pass and scored to tie the game.
Somerset Christian took a 2-1 lead, and HCA had a chance to tie the match but a penalty kick opportunity was missed.
Somerset Christian, the defending KCAA state champs, scored three goals in the second half to seal the win.
“We came out flat in the second half,” Coach Tony Henson said. “We just have to get to where we can play a full 80 minutes and get all 11 players involved in the game.”
Heritage Christian Academy (2-2) will travel to Louisville Saturday to play Assumption.
