Christian County’s Emmanuel Ixcol netted a hat trick and added an assist to push the Colonels past visiting St. Mary 6-1 on Monday night at the Stadium of Champions. The win is the Colonels’ second in a row and improves their record to 3-2, while the Vikings slip to 2-5.
The Colonels led 2-0 at the halftime break on the strength of goals by Ixcol and Luke Ferrell. Ferrell assisted on the first goal and Benito Rubio set up the second. Christian County put the game away inside the first five minutes of the second half with goals from Ferrell and Yeffrey Macario. Ixcol assisted on Macario’s goal, before finishing his hat trick with 2 unassisted strikes over the last twenty minutes.
The Colonels will go on the road to Morton’s Gap on Thursday to face the 2-3 Hopkins County Central Storm.
