Lady Wildcats Claim Five-Set Win Over Livingston Central

Trigg County claimed a five-set volleyball win over Livingston Central Tuesday in the Fifth District opener for both schools.

Livingston won the opening set 25-23 with Trigg taking the second 25-22. The Lady Wildcats won the third 25-19 and appeared on their way to winning in four sets before the Lady Cardinals took the fourth set 25-22. Trigg won the tie-breaking set 15-8 to claim the match.

The five-set win was Trigg’s first of the season and third straight dating back to last year.

Lexie Wright had 25 kills and two aces for the Lady Wildcats, while Chloe Williamson returned to the lineup after missing a match due to sickness and contributed 24 assists and four kills. Hannah McNichols had nine assists, and Skye Williamson chipped in with four aces.

Trigg County (4-6, 1-0) will get a chance at staking the top spot in the district Sept. 6 when they play at Crittenden County.
