The Christian County boys’ soccer team used a stingy defense and a single goal to claim a 1-0 win on the road at Hopkins County Central on Tuesday night. The Colonels go 3-1 over the last six days to improve to 4-2 overall, only one win short of last season’s total. The Storm slips to 2-4 overall.
Emmanuel Ixcol was on target again for the Colonels, taking a pass from Kendall Miller in the seventeenth minute and scoring the only goal they would need. Ben Settle earned his second shutout since being installed as the team’s goalkeeper three games ago. The Colonels are undefeated and have only allowed a single goal over that time.
Up next for Christian County is a Thursday visit from Paducah Tilghman. The Blue Tornado are 2-3 on the year after beating Ballard Memorial 7-0 on Monday.
