IRVING, Texas—Nearly 1,200 student-athletes competing in all levels of collegiate football this season have earned their undergraduate degrees, the National Football Foundation announced Wednesday.
Two members of the Austin Peay State University football team were recognized: tight end Michael Hoover and linebacker CJ Parker.
Hoover is in his fifth season with the team, after redshirting in 2014. He has appeared in 20 career games for the Governors, including a career-high 11 last season. He has two career receptions, including a 12-yard touchdown against Mercer as a sophomore.
Hoover earned his undergraduate degree in business management and is now pursuing a master’s in strategic leadership. He was named to the Dean’s List in the Spring 2018 semester, and earned distinction on the AD’s Honor Roll five times.
Parker transferred to Austin Peay after graduating from Purdue in the spring, and he is currently pursuing a master’s in sociology. Parker recorded one tackle in the Govs’ first game of 2018 against FBS No. 3 Georgia.
