
A trip to the open air of Mortons Gap was not a pleasant Friday night visit for the Todd County Central Rebels. Todd Central struggled to get their offense on track, while the Storm did just enough to come away with a 19-6 win.
Hopkins Central got on the board first and led at the end of the 1st quarter 7-0.
The Storm extended the lead when they found the end zone again in the second quarter. The half came to an end with Hopkins Central in front 13-0.
The offensive woes for the Rebels continued through the beginning of the 2nd half. Meanwhile, the Storm was able to push the lead on out to 19-0.
Early in the 4th quarter, Todd County Central finally found the end zone on a long touchdown reception by DJ Johnson to trim the lead to 19-6. But, the Rebels were not able to mount an additional charge and the Storm held on for the 13-point win.
The Rebels drop to 2-2 with the loss. They will make the long trek to Fulton next Friday to take on Fulton City. Hopkins Central improved their mark to 3-1 on the season.
