Fort Campbell had a runner finish in the top 20 at the Calloway County Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Murray.
Junior Katie Guevara-Maldonado finished 17th for the Lady Falcons in a time of 25:04 over the 3.1-mile course. Haley Davee was 24th in 26:31 followed by Lilliauna Powers (41st, 28:34); Sophie Laitila (50th, 30:53); Anjelle Lopez-Andujar (52nd, 31:19); Chandler Burgoyne (66th, 34:31), and Nitzay Irizarry Rivera (67th, 34:31).
As a team, the Lady Falcons finished fourth with 105 points.
In the boys’ race, Alec Vaughn led the Falcons with a 39th place finish in 21:11 over the 3.1-mile course. William DeShazo was 43rd in a time of 21:23. Other Falcon runners were Tyler Mickley (56th, 22:34); Xavier Smith-Lyles (76th, 25:49); Ian Surrency (77th, 25:49); Gabe Fonseca (79th, 26:07); and Zack Lever (82nd, 27:09).
Tomas Duncan of University Heights Academy won the boys’ varsity race in a time of 16:46 over the 3.1-mile course.
Fort Campbell finished 10th as a team with 239 points.
