Eight former Hilltoppers are currently signed with NFL teams, here’s what they did during Week 1…
JACK DOYLE, Indianapolis Colts
Beginning his sixth NFL season, Doyle started at tight end and had seven receptions for 60 yards and an average of 8.6 yards per catch. The Colts fell to the Cincinnati Bengals, 34-23, but Doyle led the team in receiving yards. Doyle and the Indianapolis Colts travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Redskins next Sunday.
GEORGE FANT, Seattle Seahawks
In his first regular-season action since 2016, Fant saw time at left tackle against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos eked out a win by a score of 27-24, however, and the Seahawks next travel to Chicago to take on the Bears for Monday Night Football.
TYLER HIGBEE, Los Angeles Rams
Returning for his third season, Higbee started at tight end against the Oakland Raiders but was not targeted during the game. The Rams beat the Raiders, 33-13, and will host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.
TAYWAN TAYLOR, Tennessee Titans
Coming into his second season, Taylor saw time at wide receiver against the Miami Dolphins. After three hours of rain delays, the Titans lost to the Dolphins by a score of 27-20. Taylor and the Tennessee Titans will host the Houston Texans next Sunday.
