The Trigg County boys’ soccer team went on the road to Logan County on Tuesday night, knocking off the Cougars 4-1 for its fourth win in a row.  With the victory, the Wildcats improve to 7-1 overall, while Logan County drops to .500 for the first time this season at 4-4.

Neither team scored over the first 30 minutes, before Trigg’s Will Jolly drew a foul in the 18-yard box and converted the penalty kick.  Only 4 minutes later Jolly doubled the lead off an assist from Daniel Jimenez.  Jimenez was playing in his first game since returning from an injury suffered against Christian County.

In the 51st minute, Jolly turned provider with an assist to Elijah Gaines to stretch the lead to 3-0, but the Cougars answered with a goal 10 minutes later from leading scorer Nick Petrie.  Gaines sealed the win when he got behind the Cougar defense to score his second of the night with only seconds remaining.  Matthew Smith made 5 saves in goal to earn the win for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats travel to Mayfield on Thursday for the first of two meetings in three days against the 3-5 Cardinals.
