Runners braved a steady morning rain to compete at the 39th Annual Marshall County Cross Country Invitational in Draffenville.
Ethan Futrell led the Trigg County runners across the finish line in 58th place in a time of 19:16 over the 3.1-mile course. Apolo Blackbear-Francis was next in 68th place (19:29), followed by Marshall Jenkins (72nd, 19:38), Riley Thompson (84th, 19:57), Austin Cavanaugh (95th, 20:15); Alex Skinner (103rd, 20:33), Tyler Freeman (127th, 21:20), and Carson Woodall.
Henry County’s Silas Winders won the race in a time of 15:52.
As a team, Trigg County finished 12th with 325 points.
For the ladies, Livi Ricks was Trigg’s top runner with a 47th place finish in a time of 23:13. DeDe Barbee was 49th (23:23), followed by Lexi Ricks (50th, 23:25), Breeanna Barnes (66th, 24:47), Phelan Dossett (81st, 25:28), and Kylie Alford (84th, 25:49).
Henry County’s Dinah Winders won the race in a time of 18:44.
Trigg County finished eighth with a score of 207.
In the middle school girls’ race, Reese Bush finished 15th, and Mari Kate Bush was 26th.
Eli Hill finished 14th in the middle school boys’ race.
