Lady Wildcats Fall to Webster County in Three Sets

After winning a close first set, Webster County made quick work of Trigg County in claiming the three-set win 25-23, 25-13, 25-12.

The first set was a close affair that featured 14 ties and eight lead changes. Trigg County’s 13-10 lead was the biggest either team had in the set. Tied 20-20, Webster County took the lead and won 25-23.

Webster County started strong in the second set, jumping out to a 10-2 lead. Trigg would not get any closer as they dropped the second set 25-13.

Another fast start in the third set caught a flat Lady Wildcat squad off guard as they trailed 10-1. Trigg fought back to cut the deficit to 11-6 but would get no closer in a 25-12 loss.

Lexie Wright had five kills, and Iyanna Grubbs added two. Hannah McNichols, Chloe Williamson, and Francesca Passquillico each had two aces.

Trigg County (6-11) will return to action Thursday when they host West Creek, Tenn. Thursday.
